Help: Panasonic DMC-F7

Anybody using this camera....or has some basic experience of it?
This may sound stupid, but how do I get the camera to go into 'REC' mode? Whenever I power on, it will automatically go to the 'PLAY' mode.

Will appreciate any help!

Is there a mode dial? Set it to 'rec' mode. Normally it's represented by a red icon.

hey, first of all. thanks for the replies!! gettin a lil frustrated.

hey magixshoe: i've slide it to the right, the camera boots up, but then it is in 'play' mode, how to get it to go to the 'rec' mode? i've read the manual...search the web.


hi lifeworld, there is not a mode dial on the camera though. only a few buttons and slides here and there.

the slider for power on is located at the front part, the one that slides the protective cover out and power on the camera

there is another one at the top of the camera, to toggle between playback and record mode

hi, thanks for ur reply once again.

ok, so now i get it, power on + protective cover is located at the front.
whereas the playback cum record mode muz be toggled. this, is located at the top.
ok, first of all, i powered on.. meaning i slide the cover out.
then i toggle the top button by pushing it. there put 'no image to see'. means it is in play mode. then i toggle again, by pressing the top button again, however, all i get is a black screen.
for the battery first charge, how long muz u charge it? a full 12 hours like for hp batteries?
i've been charging the batteries..6 hours+ yesterday..then stop. ..then today currently still charging 6hours+ liao...(went to the shop, the shop say batt not charge tats y i charge again). currently charging la..but the green light is not blinking...meaning the charge is full liao ma (from wat i read in the manual). pls advice what to do. anything can sms me at 9686 9665

ok.. i know what is your problem already.

u got to slide the FRONT slider ALL THE WAY, the lens should protrude out. if i am not wrong the lens didnt come out in your case rite?

ps: panasonic shld really improve on their manual!
