    Default Urgent Advice Please

I am planning for a dog show shoot in West Coast Park tomorrow and I have :
    Nikkor 10-24
    Sigma 50/1.4
    Tamron 18-270
    Nikkor 18-105

    Can somebody tell me
    - which is the most appropriate lens or lenses to bring
    - wat settings to use to capture the dogs movements ?

    Thank you

    18-270 for range

    50mm f1.4 for bokeh

    10-24 for prize presentation

Shutter mode, Shutter speed 250to300 on fast movement. depending on weather conditions. ISO 100/200.

close up bokeh 50mm. set apenture mode f1.4 for max bokeh or f4 for sharp image.

or u can set iso to auto.

there are a multitude of variables that affect the settings you need to use, so it's nearly impossible to recommend the settings to use.
You would know your equipment best, and the kinds of photos you want to take.
For example, frankieyipka recommended shutter priority and about 1/250s.
But what if you want to shoot the dogs in motion with a panning shot?
What if the sky is really bright and even at ISO 200 and 1/250s, the aperture shows HI and your pictures come out blown?

The same thing goes for the lens you use.
the 50/1.4 would give you the nice thin depth of field to isolate your subject, but that might mean you have to get reasonably close to the dogs. If you're not comfortable with doing that, then a telephoto lens would be more appropriate.

as you can see, it's really hard to help you with the exact recommendation.
    Exploring! :)

whatever is appropriate for the moment. changing lenses is pretty fast, you just have to anticipate what is going to happen next, and you can, to a certain extent.

for settings, it depends on the dog as well, some dogs are more active, and keep moving, some dogs you can chance a slightly "longer" exposure (not that it should be long in any sense of the word).

    in short, life is dynamic.

Just came back from the dog show. The fact is that I used Tamron 18-270 all the way and with shutter mode because this is a dog obedience shows with obstacles to be clear. Hope they are well panned !
