Default canon lens hood: where to buy and how much

hi

need to get a replacement hood
or rather

may need to get a replacement hood

mine's badly scratched

it's the 70-200 f/4 hood.

where to buy ? CP ?

how much ?

maybe can try the camera wrkshp at peninsula shopping centre for a cheaper price?

you can go down and take a look. lens hood i think penisula plaza usually sell cheaper u can also go some trusted shop like CP AP or MS

Does it really matter if a hood is scratched or not? Other than the asthetics, it doesn't affect anything else does it? Might be able to save yourself a couple of bucks by keeping the old one until it actually breaks.

If the interior is velvet and the scratches are reflecting light AND you are really picky about your picture quality, then yes, the hood has to be replaced.

If the scratches reflect the way you handle your gear, then the next hood will be scratched too. i suggest you don't bother.

You don't need to replace it... that's one of the main advantage of using the hood anyway—to protect the front element and the lens.
