Default How to setup wireless access at home?

Just bought as a wireless ADSL modem for surfing wirelessly, but do not know how to setup.
    Wondering if anyone could help.

I am a Pacnet broadband subscriber.
Have a Netgear all in one built-in wireless modem (Router, modem, switcher).

It links via a RJ45 to the ehernet card in my PCI slot.

It comes with installation disc & step by step instructions, but somehow cannot setup.
    Can anyone help?

    Thanks

Hmm.. not trying to be unhelpful here, but since hardwarezone.com is an IT forum you should get more experts and concise help there.

Try posting in their "internet bandwidth and network clinic" below.....

1: your router should have a few ports, one of the port is for your modem, don't not plug your modem to the wrong port(LAN port).

2: install your wireless software for your pcm card or usb adaptor. Which one are you using? are you using win98 or winxp? for win98, you need to install the software 1st, for winxp, plug the wireless adaptor or pcmcia 1st.

3: connect your pc to your router via internet explorer. the address is 192.168.0.1 for default. refer to your manual. setup your ssid. if your ssid is "abc" for example, your client machine must also use "abc".

4: make sure you use straight cable and not crossed cable.

5: leave setting to default if unsure. also, the client must be using DHCP .

pm me if you need someone to remote access to your pc and configure for you.

    hope this help.

wakakaka. surfing with WAP? or maybe I'm just still hanging over from the partying? kekekekeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee My bad.

hmmm... in that case then issit nvr read the instructions clearly? All the default router setup instructions should be given right?

When you say cannot set up a wireless network, do you mean you cannot detect the various PCs and laptops in your house or are you only talking about seting up one PC?

If you connect through RJ45 to your PC, then its not running on wireless already? heheheeeeeee

maybe more info might help on the puzzling issue
