Default Recommend Car Aircon Service pls

    Hello,

Can anyone recommend a good service center/workshop for car aircon service. Kindly provide cost (est./actual), contact, website etc if possible.

Problem:1) Very slight odour in car
    2) Not as cold as before
*Did not service aircon for 3 years.

    Service required:
    1) Replace filter
    2) Flushing (maybe)
    3) Top up gas (I dont know)

I checked out confort delgro, and I wonder if there are better options around.

    Thank you in advance!

Suggest u go to your friendly workshop ask them change aircon filter. it can cost between $15 to $70 depending on type of car. For Japanese cars, it usually cost about $25 or so.

This is the least you can do. The air con filter should be changed every 10k of your running mileage. Odor built up could be bacteria growing somewhere on filter or in the aircon duct.

An ac flush may not be necessary if aircon is well maintained. just remember to shut off aircon after switching ignition off each time.
Thanks, confirm must change filter. In the past, I never had to almost turn to extreme "Blue", and the temperature is good. So the issue could be gas, I dont know.

The thing about shutting off aircon after ignition off...been practicing it, I guess thats why it wasnt abused.

As for aircon gas, please go back to agent for check. There are alot of outside mechanic who do not know how much to fill for aircon gas. Over filling will damage your aircon. More is not better.

As for turning to extreme blue ends of the temperature dial, it is not necessary bad. The ac has a uilt in thermostat to cut in and cut out.

In fact, you can try one of my recommendation if you want to try fix the odor.
    1. Go autoback or stamford tyre, get replacement aircon filter. It is usually inside the glove box in the car.
    2. Park your car in an open car park.
    3. change, and clean housing unit with slightly moist cloth. (If you are allergic to dust, pls use mask.
    4. Switch on ignition.
    5. Wind down all windows.
    6. Turn the temperature dial to Maximun heat (red)
    7. Leave it burning hot for 5min.
    8. Shut down engine and leave car as is for next 5min.

Now, switch on ignition. Up all windows, turn on the AC. You will smell the immediate difference as the heat had killed plenty of bacteria along the passage of the aircon duct.

Repairing aircon is tricky. Not every mechanic bothers to read up and learn. They just plug it in. So, best bet, go to agent ask for quote if the above recommendation still does not make aircon any better. BTW, you may also have a dead rat under the car hood!
Thanks a lot! First time I heard this, but it makes sense to me. I will do it after changing filter.

Very good and price very reasonable. Problem is he works alone so your appointment could be 2-3 weeks later.
Thank you for input. Care to share what he does and how he operates (mobile service?)

    Paiseh bro! my bad!

I read your post as "Aircon" and not "Car Aircon"....

The one i posted does normal home aircon... apologies once again.... i better delete the post....

But then again.... when I had my car aircon repaired/serviced the last time, I went to the workshop near Eminent plaza. It's called H-Tyre.
