Hi all,
Just wanted to check with other users of Canon A80. Does your LCD on the A80 seem to be much darker as compare to digital camera of other makers (eg. Nikon). Esp in during indoor, the LCD seem pitch dark where in actural fact I can still see the subject clearly. Tried the same condition on a friend's Nikon, the LCD is very clear and bright. I don't have another A80 to try on, so can someone verify if this problem is common to all A80? Anyway to fix it or work around this problem? Thanks and regards |

Hi, i have tried out my own A80 and my workplace's Nikon Coolpix 3100 and in comparision, the screen of the A80 is only slighly darker than the Coolpix.
I was actually wondering which mode your A80 was in when you made the comparision, i.e if your A80 was in M mode and the shutter speed and apecture settings were inappropriate, the screen will be very dark. ![]() |

Yeah too dark and it will pick up nothing much.
If u r feeling adventurous though, u can try setting to ISO 400 and Sepia mode using Func button, can shows u everything in the dark quite clearly thru the LCD. Sepia is like night vision! ![]() |

Wanna real test? Take a picture using any camera, copy the file to other camera's memory card, then view the picture side by side.
