I just got myself a rolleiflex 2.8f type 1. Lens looks clean, shutter speed sounds great... My worries is that I'll drop it!
I've been reading about the disadvantages of the original neckstrap, that the leather gets too dry and may break, and also being very hard to find. Some users seen to be using the op tech pro loop strap with the rolleiflex with no complaints, which is an alternative I'll probably go into as it's cheap and easily available, though I do question the reliability of the setup, prolly will feel safer with the matel connector. Suggestions? Thx!

i think the only thing that uses back the metal connector is only a Rollei case ... with antique leather there's a risk of breaking... like you mentioned. but if there are newly made leather cases, i would like to know where to get them too. : ) anyone with such info?

I used the one from www.leicatime.com. You can send the Rolleiflex leather clips to them for fitting into their leather straps, or just buy the whole thing from them.

I forgotten about this thread. Heh
I brought the op-tech for the second time... first was for my D40. It seem to be sturdy enough. I looped through the center pin after some effort, and it held ok. Can't wait to bring the baby out for shoot. The quality of these older cameras are astounding.
