Default Newbies Effort

Hi everyone!

This is a pic from my first batch of shots using Canon 300D, my first digital camera. Your comments are appreciated!

Hi bob,

Welcome to clubsnap.

You have to remove the .org.jpg extension for the image to show from imagestation. Edited for you.

A very nice portraiture of the girl! The soft side-lighting is good...however, look out for stray object in the frame (lower right side...some yellow/golden thing...)

The girl's pic:

The yellow object is distracting. Perhaps the hair on the girl's neck is distracting too. Would have been better if the hair's not there. Just my 2 cents.

anyway, the portrait was shot at ISO1600, super noisy and colour not very good. why 1600?
nice colours for the otani...

Oops! The yellow thingy on the right were chopsticks, we had just finished breakfast opposite Golden Mile and waiting for the coach to bring us to Malacca. Guess I'll crop them off and see if i can remove the hair on the neck in Photoshop

I was using the 28-135mm canon lens at 135 focal length at f5.6 and the first couple of shots turned out too dark. So I rammed the ISO up to 1600 which gave me a shutter speed of 1/30 hehe, maybe I should have used the 50mm.

Thanks for your thoughts guys

I'll remember to be more careful in composing my shots.

Thanks again guys, this is truly a great site for us beginners to learn the ropes.
