Thread: Canon user, looking for good telephoto lens (advice)

Default Canon user, looking for good telephoto lens (advice)

Hi, I have a Canon 450D and a 18-55mm kit lens. Looking for a decent telephoto. Reviews out there say the 28-135mm IS is better than the newer 55-250mm IS, optically. I think that since the optical performance of my kit lens falls off at 55mm anyway, a 28-135mm can give me good overlap. What do you think?

I would take 55-250 anytime... 135 is not long enough and too many overlapping with your 18-55

Not sure which reviews you are referring too

I would also suggest 55-250. Though the rotating front element (means very difficult to use CPL) minus 1 point, but still, a good to have lens. You may search for pictures taken by this lens in CS
