    Hi there!

If your upgrading, Why not consider the D300 or the 50D? moving from a 450D to the D90 isn't an upgrade since their both consumer level cameras? That's just my thought

Another thing to consider: following the crowd. If your photog buddies are mostly on Nikon systems, switching camps will be a good way to try out equipment. I have one friend who is on a D60 kit but he's thinking of getting 500D/50D because the rest of us are on Canon.

How does the more expensive 50D's ISO performance compares to the cheaper D90? I am planning an upgrade myself next time from 450D because of the poor ISO performance too.

from what i learn and what i tested.. its not worth the upgrade purely on this factor. Better u invest in flash (and learn the right way to use it) or some faster lens...

unless u go D700 or 5D.. then i think u get the improvment of a clean shot with high ISO but the money might not worth such upgrade if u solely in need of high ISO only
