I'm thinking along the same lines too. Heard than Man Shing and Wan Shing are two of the more popular shops but dun really know about their prices.

was too disgusted that i did not even bother to inquire about the lenses... check with others before going, you just might save time and your air fare... regards. |

prices for the Canon items are lower than Singapore's. I'm not too sure about Nikon lenses. Tamron lenses are generally about the same....but the 90mm macro is cheaper.

yup but I dunno which shop sells it at that price. Wing Shing sells it higher. might be going next month again. would anyone interested if I bring brandnew Tamron 90mm back and sell at $500 (to cover adverse exchange rate movements, transport and labour)?

I realise that the general trend is that HK can be more expensive for newer stuff.
The last time I checked (last National Day), a D100 and 24-85G was more expensive in HK than Singapore. But 'older' products are much cheaper. I've recently asked a friend (who is a HK-er) to get a 70-300 ED lens from Wing Shing. I got it at HK$1980, approx $440. Cathay sells this for $588 w/o GST. I saved around $160. harlow123 > thanks for the site. Now for my contributions: These websites would give a rough estimate of the lens. If you ever want to send a email for a e-quote, make sure that you ask for a lens that has international warranty, or they will just quote you a price for a grey market lens. www.matsuyacamera.com.hk www.tincheungcamera.com.hk |

Btw, you can also get grey market items in HK.
For instance, grey market version of canon A80 is S$100 cheaper. |
