Anyone had the Canon Deluxe Ballhead 10? How do you find it?

A friend is going to the States and I was thinking of getting it.... going to use it with a lightweight setup consisting of a Canon 300D (with no vertical grip), 550EX and a Sigma 70-300 or a Canon 70-200 F4L.

as stated, my friend would be getting from States, or the United States of America. B&H is a camera retailer based in New York.
