Haiz after reading through a lot of posts on the above lenses, can't really get decided.
I guess many people here have the same question since both are about equally priced I shoot mostly outdoors, indoors sometimes I've read the sigma is a bit soft, but outdoors will that matter? indoors, the sigma might be better than the canon? so which would you get, and why, thanks! ![]() |

i'm using the canon f4. weight is so much lighter. price is only slightly higher than the sigma. very sharp pics generated. but then i've never tried shooting with the sigma b4. held it though n it weighs a ton!

i don't have either, but given a choice i would either take the sigma or get a 200/2.8L prime. F4 is a bit slow at that length. YMMV.

I do more outdoors esp portraiture so hence this is what I m looking for. Gotta compromise of the aperture. 2.8L is too expensive ![]() |

I guess it'll be the F4L, since I'll be doing outdoor shoots more. Thanks all for your inputs! ![]() |

Sigma 70-200 f2.8 is softer image at f2.8 but not at f4, have to compare apple to apple.
But is the softness very critical, I think it is up to individual. Sometimes, when using film and don't have time to change to higher rating film, the 1 stop difference really helps. But beware of the break neck weight, it may be the casue that you miss a great shot down the road as you are tired from all these weight. Just my 1 cents worth of thought.
