IMHO, the head of the meerkat would have been better in the middle of the picture.

Great shot... Looks like it's smiling at your cam too

Maybe you'd like to try to retain some colours for the merkeet itself so as to distinguish from the background. Alternatively, PS the head to "stand out" a little more for a 3D feel.

Unfortunately the color of the Meerkat and the background ie. the rock is about the same color tone.

Unusual pose but nice.

What I ment was to desaturate the backgroung but retain the merkeet colours. B'cuz of the DOF, the merkeet's body seemed to bland into the background.

oic, cos I didn't understand what you meant by color, as the pic is B/W my understanding of colors is that black and white are not color
