i'd like setup a personal home studio.. and i'm torn between these 2 brands

Bowens or Elinchrome? This is like Nikon or Canon kind of question. (Maybe Coke or Pepsi?)
You cant go wrong with either one of them, but I prefer Bowens for many reasons. (Hey Bowens is British!) Remember, you dont just buy the lights, you will still need to buy all sorts of accessory eg snoot, barn door, etc. You can buy the Lightbox magazine, there is a article about studio setup.... ![]() |

Both are Bowens and Elinchrome are just as good... though some folks have a preference for Bowens for product shoot, for some reasons and Elinchrome is touted to give better skin tones.
Put these subtle aspect aside, if you think after sales is important, I would say Bowens gives pretty good after sales service should anything goes wrong with your lights. |
