Was at Bishan Park and was surprised to see this Long-tailed macaques monkey eating a myna. Have seen this monkeys snatching food and even drinks from people but this is the first time i see a monkey eating a bird.

I don't know how the monkey got that bird and if the bird already dead as when i saw it, the monkey has already ate half of that bird.

thanks, when I visit our nature parks here, these mynas are everywhere! and in big groups too, once i counted about 30 of them at Mt Faber nature trek

Good shot in the sense it brings nature nearer to us. Monkeys need protein too. How about we mammals who eat everything that flies except aeroplane, that swims except ship and that has four legs except table. Keep up the good work. National Geographic may call at your door.

Even though I'm a newbie but I think it's a great capture!
I always wonder if there are any natural predators for these mynas. They are reproducing like nobody's business. |
