    My ??? to your Q:
    1. If an item cost more than hundred, would anyone wants to sell it off with $1 bid?
    2. you still dont believe in ebay?

How can you tell if its Goretex? I've been told the key to Goretex is its water-resistance and breathable.

I've found that the material is water-resistant and if I place it against the light, I can see the light through the fabric. The label says Goretex and other than what I've done, I can't tell if its Goretex or not.

Can anybody shed some light on this?

Maybe you are right I'm not as smart or as clever... but I am just viewing my points on why everyone wants to see a pic of the jacket and thats all.

Nirvana, I think it would be better if you could directly post a pic of the jacket. It would make things easier, and we can help you figure out what is the brand of the jacket.

That's exactly what i think ppl should do. See a pic first then decide to bid, not the other way.

I was just at Compassvale Shopping Centre and visited a shop which specialises in Winterwear. They do not have a similar jacket but the closest thing is one with a removable fleece (not Goretex) jacket. That jacket is on sale for $168 and is a generic brand.

Gentlemen, branding is not and should not be the issue. Assume that you are buying an unbranded jacket and assume that it is an internal fleece jacket that you are buying. Forget about Goretex and Brand. Even at $100 this jacket is still worth it.

I have decided that the best way forward is to bid for it on the basis of the description above.

The sale will be subject to acceptance upon final inspection. There is currently too much controversy created.

Bid for it. If it is not to your satisfaction upon inspection, you can walk away.

I do not believe in misrepresenting any item I am selling.

Nirvana- This is confusing. Is this a goretex jacket that u have stated to sell or is it not?

Kingpin - I'm sorry you are confused. I said ASSUME I am selling a two piece jacket - an outer shell with an inner FLEECE jacket. If you can tell me how to tell the difference between a Goretex jacket and Fleece, I am prepared to subject the jacket to the test. However, let it be known that at $49, this is less than A THIRD of the cost of a FLEECE jacket on sale at Compassvale. I also said that the sale is subject to "acceptance upon final inspection."

BEWARE of what??? If you have not been following the thread, kindly make your comments AFTER reading through all the postings. If you need a lesson in English, I am prepared to spend some time to educate you. Although I must warn you I have little patience for those that are intellectually subpar but believe they are smarter than lab rats.
