No colour cast on the LCW variable ND from experience, but cross bar effect at high stops (around ND 8)

Whoa, this thread has certainly been busy. Wasn't like this when first came in (rudely). I apologise for my rude comment, I'm an idiot.

Anyway, really cool info you guys are ditching out, thanks.

Not a worry at all, chrisyeong. You are gentlemanly in your reply here .
Please accept my apologies for those inappropriately blunt words of mine.
I am learning as I follow this thread, though I have nothing to contribute as I have no experience in this topic.

For everyone's benefit, this is the 82mm filter size LCW Fader ND (77mm thread) on the EF-S 10-22mm @ 10mm, set to around 10 stops.

    1) You can see the vignetting that appears at the corners, disappears at around 11mm
    2) You can see the obvious crossbar effect with light and dark areas on the same image. Disappears at around 6~7 stops @ 10mm, or around 8 stops at 12mm or so.
    3) There is almost no colour casting at all as compared to DIY variable NDs

Mine just arrived and a quick test photo at white light show no visible hue change. The LCW build is sturdy. Now I see what you mean by crossbar effect at the max setting.

I must say, HK and China shipping is fast, just a week to arrive and I got myself a hotshoe protector with bubble leveller along the way.

Nevertheless, if you are doing for science demo, 2 CPL will be ideal as single piece is not illustrative.
