Default Photo frames & photo sizes

    Hi,

I just bought a couple of photo frames from Ikea and realised that the sizes are kinda odd.

I have a photoframe that fits 11 3/4 inch by 15 3/4 inch, what kind of photo size should i get to fit the frame?

10R or S10R. It will leave a little bit of a white border, which might be the desired effect.

What's the frame model? The description should tell you the photo size.

Frame model is RIBBA. it doesn't say the size of the photo except for the dimension of the frame.

I have another frame same model but the size stated is 7 inch by 9 1/2 inch.

I feeling a bit lost as to what size prints i should print out.

The CS newbies corner can help you:

What you need to do is look at the specs of the passepartout cutout.

There are a LOT of picture frames called "Ribba" there, so please be a bit more specific. The ikea website can help you find your model, and then maybe you can post a link here.

Link for one of the frame
    http://www.ikea.com.sg/catalog/produ...44754-50512766

Given that the Picture, width 18 cm, height 24 cm.
I can only fit a 6R size and even so it's will be kinda too small for the frame right?

Yup, I think the design is to leave a white border so it looks nicer

Yes, they are all RIBBA cos' its the model name of the frame. All of them are matted with a
specified cut-out size. Of course you can remove the mat and have a bigger print but w/o
the mat, your prints will be touching the glass which might not be good for long term.

I have noted the specification during my previous trip to IKEA. Hope this helps:

    1. Ribba 40X50 (size of the wooden frame) the cut-out mat fit 290mm X 390mm print.
    2. Ribba 50X70 -------------------------------------------- 390mm X 490mm
    3. Ribba 70X100 -------------------------------------------- 490mm X 690mm
