  1. #1

    Default difference between the filter???

    i have

    67mm hoya uv-guard (coated)

    and

    67mm uv(0)

and the price difference almost $20.

care to explain what's the difference between the 2? Thanks.

if my guess is not wrong.

one is multi coat, the other is just plain glass.

the advantage of having a multi coat filter is to prevent ghosting and flares better then a plain glass. so get the multi coat one, u wun regret.

As hoya would say... "The difference is clear".

If you read the hoya website on the coating differences, you'll see how they explain it.

    check the webby again.

the website only shows info on 67mm uv(0)

wondering if 67mm uv-guard(coated) version is actually 67 mm UV G - Series??? since its cheaper?

Simply read into multi coating and decide whether the $20 is worth it.

Coated usually means better flare resistance. Most hoya filters are quite decent.Watch out for the el cheapo brands like emolux, sunpak and octopus etc. May have lousy coating or not resistant to scratches.
