Hi guys, will be getting housing for my C-5050Z soon, and am wondering how well the camera takes pictures underwater w/o a strobe?
I read somewhere that the effective range of the internal flash is about 3 feet before starting to get back-scatter, anyone has tried it before? Another question, what strobe are you guys using currently and recommend? Thanks in advance!! |

Budget is about S$600 max, with the base tray and optical cable in.
Was the water at Payar very murky? |

For that budget, I was advise to stick to my internal strobe. If you insist on getting one, you might want to try Epoque, someone was trying to organise a mass ordering sometime back. |

But as I was told, anything object more then 1.5m away is almost impossible to be lit by the strobe. As long the object you are taking is far (the further away, the more particles in bewteen your lens and object), the more backscatter, unless your water you dive in is super clear. So that why macro shots usually have less backscatter for this reason. However, the internal flash is partially blocked by the lens barrel while shooting macro, so, the soultion: spend more $$$, buy a strobe ![]() |

Goondoo, what would be the expected pricing for the YS-90DX or YS-90Auto strobe?
