Default Broken Canon FD 35-70mm macro lens...

Hello everyone! I'm new here and kind of new to photography - as in I understand the basic concepts, but that's about all.

I've been using a Sony point-and-shoot which is almost fully automatic (there's a major lack of settings!) for some time now. Last month I found a 20-year-old Canon A-1 with a Canon FD 35-70mm macro zoom lens so naturally I was quite eager to try it out.

I'm not sure if it's due to age or what (20 years in an Ovaltine can...), but when I tried it out the front part of the lens, around the focus ring, fell out. I tried to put it back on but I found that the lens was still unable to focus.

Any suggestions or comments on how and where I can get it fixed? Thank you! =) Pictures below. Sorry for the blurriness! I took them with some Olympus cam, and no matter what I did the pictures came out blurry, and the cam's macro mode was non-existent.

I think it is not worth trying to repair the lens as the repair would probably cost you more than a new one.
