    Default Built-in processing

    Hi,

    Sorry for this question that im goin to ask.

    Im using a Canon EOS 500D, does it have built-in processing for RAW images?

    Geez im not sure if i know what am i talking about.

    Basically i just want to do some editing after taking some Raw photos.

    Glad if someone can help.

    Nope

    You can't do any post processing in your cam after taking pics in RAW

    don't have.

    might as well just shoot jpg, the camera will process data to jpg straight away.

    yeah agree...
    why would anyone capture in RAW and then try to edit (what kind of editing, anyway?) using the camera? It's not like you can email the file directly from the camera.

    You can edit JPG images as well. Start walking before running - JPG is still ok for some basic editing where beginners would start. Once you are more familiar with digital workflow and all the details around you can switch to RAW.
    A DSLR is a camera, a recording device. Why do you want to do some editing on such a tiny display that is not even calibrated? Have a look into "Digital Darkroom" for more information about the digital workflow.
