hmmm, it seems like tried too hard... i will probably place the leave somewhere away from the craving.. and use very shallow dof.

Thanks for the comments, will try again if I am there.

Can you advise how shallow DoF be achieved with 18-55mm f3.5-5.6 kit lens?

U can get the most shallow at 55mm, f3.5, subject as close to camera, background as far from subject...
anyone pls correct if I'm wrong,thks.

I thought the max aperture is f3.5@18mm and f5.6@55mm?

Oh yah, forgot his lens is variable aperture.

well ... the answer i was really look for is that with 55mm F5.6, which angle would nemesis32 be shooting from to give a better shallow DoF effect.
