My (almost) FOC Darkroom Sharing Session is happening again this coming Saturday 11th July from 630pm onwards at my studio's darkroom.
Basically I will guide 2 people through a basic darkroom session in my studio for free! (Well almost free, I collect $20 for material fees) It will be a hands on session, where I will effectively guide you through the processes of doing a basic darkroom print from getting the right exposure all the way up to dodging and burning. Here are the results of some previous participants: ![]() My own print ![]() By Ivan ![]() By Ben ![]() By Jackson You can see more from my previous thread at http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showt...rkroom+sharing. Why am I doing this? For no other reason than to spread the love of film. It's also a good chance for me to fire up the old enlarger again and make sure everything's working (including my own skills!) There are however some conditions as stated below: 1. As this is free, I reserve the right to make amendments and/or cancel the session should there be the need to 2. I will have the right to reject any people from attending for whatever reason 3. I ask that I be allowed to take a photograph of the final print, just to put up in the post in clubsnap or my website for reference. Those who are interested please e-mail me at ervinelin@gmail.com and I'll send you more details. First come first serve (students have priority) but please do not put down your name unless you are absolutely sure you can make it on Saturday, I've had people cancel at the last minute and it's just unfair to others. Also, I'll be only doing 1 session with 2 participants as it's quite tiring for me to do any more. Yups! Ervine |

Hard to find on net right?.. even if you managed to find, hard to ship over. Not sure about 6x6 but my 4x5 enlarger weighs A TON!! I can't imagine having to ship it over from overseas.

and not to mention that the prices here are astronomical EVEN b4 converting it back to SGD..... so i'm terribly astonished as to what aspect that the stuff here in Europe is of a "much better quality" than back in SGP somethings are really clear, but MANY other stuff here is of the same or even "not as fantastic" quality wad...but still pay a premium......wierd.... ![]() |

Here are the photos of the prints from the session:
Here's me with my prints from the Yishun Causeway shoot I did a while back. I was basically just making sure the enlarger was working and that my skills were still roughly intact. It's been almost a year since I fired up the enlarger! ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's Eddy with his photos taken with a Yashica GSN (I think it was a GSN). ![]() ![]() |

Lastly, here's YiYong's prints of photos I took a while back in Hainan Island with a tiny P&S Olympus compact film camera.
![]() ![]() Really like this uber gloomy looking one! To those who are curious, it took us an average of over 1hr per photo to get it from test strips all the way down to the final print. So one whole night we only managed to print 4 photos (the 2 I printed were done on another night). Yups! Till the next time (if any)! |

Nothing like good old black and white on traditional print
Go out and print or let someone print your favorite b&w photos ... See how beautiful the output is from a Leica, a Hassy, Rollei, etc.. It really applies to all film cameras, even point and shoot. If one has never had their film b&w pics printed with enlarger before, time to try, guaranteed satisfaction (the real ones, not those shown on computer screens) :-). .
