This lens is full frame, so is optimised for Sony A900 but will work very nicely with Sony A100/200/300/350 and A700 at 1.5x crop factor giving 36-158mm (approx) SLR or full frame equivalent range.

The (D) designation represents the fact that this lens has a distance encoder built in, so those who use flash will benefit from the Advance Distance Integration (ADI) facility from your dSLR to meter both light and distance when this lens is attached (you may need to adjust your flash setting to ADI in the camera menu).
