Default minolta 5400 HS

HI is it possible to use the minolta dimage A1 on the 5400 ?

From what I have gathered, the answer is no. Apparently, the A1 only works with the 5600HS and 3600HS, third party flashes not withstanding.

I think it can work ..... 5400, 5600 are all based on the same hotshoe ......

Yes, the hotshoe is the same, and the flash will fit the shoe perfectly.

But you cannot get TTL to work properly (can't remember is it fire full power or refused to fire) and you can't get working in manual mode either.

If can work, the price of the 5400HS wouldn't be so low compared to the 5600HS(D)

You should able to but you will lose or miss some of the functions/features. But it may not even fire. Hmm, probably you can ask around who got a 5400 to let you test?
