let's hope with a new company solely focused on developing firmware for cams and lenses we'll get even better performances in the future!

Would this mean we will be paying for our firmware upgrades?

Just wondering where the new company will get their revenue from....

probably a new dslr looks like a notebook, running with windows 7 with IE, office and outlook.

frankly speak, i don't see any reason we would get a better firmware performance. probably in the near future, when you buy a dslr, you will be questioned which firmware version you would like to install: home basic (free), home premium (USD100), professional (USD200) and professional premium (USD500).

Agree. Now Nikon can focus on making bodies and lens, while Fujitsu can focus their computing skills on the firmware. Win for us!
