Default If you noticed....

IMHO, so dun flame me, ok? Just to let everyone know (not directed at anyone in mind hoh!)

this is supposed to be a u/w photography thread, so organising trips for u/w shootouts, u/w photography related issues still ok.

We need a mod desperately(beivied, take over quick!), MOs here start coming in, diving equipment tok(non related to photography), toking rot.... you get the idea. We must have sub-threads or everything looks too damn messy.(as told to me by an outsider).

Now it is beginning to look like the FiNs forum. Which pretty soon, will die off sooner or later. Then divers who are non-photograpers will learn of this forum and come in, tok rot, then intro more of such frens in, and so forth...... tok about diving equipment, diving theories, diving courses, DIR, sale/field reports of non u/w photography related equipment (for those, better go fins forum), pretty soon, we will have a bunch of divers or divers wannabe, not interested in photography come in! then this will turn into just another diving thread, not u/w photography thread as stated by the thread title. Worse is have non diving photographers come in, talk alot of rot and posts tons of stupid non related posts, making the thread messy and tiring to read. You think you logging dives meh? why rushing for becoming thread Dm or instructor huh?

we must thrive to keep it like wetpixel or digidiver forums (even though they dun have alot of posts per day). How about techniques in PS photo editing for example? (missing leh) Although lesser posts, I still could find most of what i need on u/w photography there. Easier to search for particular info and more pleasing on the eye. You guys should agree with me on that, right waisji, kthan?

Those frm the fins forum will know what I mean. It's beginning to see the same pattern emerging, and I think, you guys like me, do not want to see it so.

I might have offended someone (if any), but till we have a mod to keep the thread primp and proper, think we should have some guidelines setup soon on what is NOT to be posted here. Rem, this is mostly about photography, topside or below sea level.

almost forgot this is a uw PHOTOGRAPHY thread. u are right, lanxx....let's stick to related topics. Anything else work via PM.....perhaps can post a title like Cheap deals for diving in XXX to inform everyone but no more. Enquiries on PM basis thereafter.

kng and i talked about this before, which we have noticed as well.

from my point of view, yes we should keep to as uw photography related as possible. but a few ot threads should be ok. this is what you get on main CS anyway. but the balance has to be there definitely, that uw photography has to be the main hoo haa around here.

another thing is that we have to try and keep to the topic of the thread as much as possible, and not like what we did on our ancestral thread. thats one of the messy things that we tend to get ourselves into here.

i personally dont encourage the idea of supporting MOs created and trip organising for profit making purposes.

lanxx's fear of being like the forum that he mentioned can be emphathised. being a new subforum, there definitely will have much fine tuning to be done. the present mods' objective should be just to create room for us. whatever that should be done about this subforum should be carried out by the new uw mods. (remember there are two ok, dear lanxx)

what is to be done, lets wait for the future uw mods to flex their muscles and get things moving.

Overall, i do agree with what Lanxx has said. My personal point of view is to keep the forum nice, neat and tidy.

since we ARE a sub-forum of Clubsnap, i guess we should also adhere to some simple basic rules established; of the cultures of the forum.

an example would be MO's, should be posted in the approriate sub-forums. With this said, a simple link to the Underwater sub-forum to update everyone.

I guess that we should balance NDR and NPR stuff, (non diving related and non photography related). Would be great if we could blend both diving and photography together, since this is what this sub-forum is about.

Most of all, to stress what KTHAN has said, this is a Underwater photography subforum, so lets MAKE IT ONE...

moreover, i think LANXX's thread about interesting article should be made a sticky, so as his Underwater housing thread.

let's save the OT talk for the main Ah gong thread. and let the rest of the information be as tidy as possible, of course again balance is the key i suppose, it would take all the fun out of it if there are no jokes or smileys. now wouldn't it?

having said that, i am gonna dig out some photoshop stuff for underwater Photography..... although i am not a big fan of it. since i came from Slide days.. but none the less, this is what photography is evolving into.

cheers everyone

i'm wondering if i still can be counted in or not leh. i'm the ah gong here, but then i'm posting way too much nonsense - haven't got the $$$ like beivied to go diving so often...
