grey card. saves you a lot of time if the lighting is more or less constant. IF not the LL have to go through each picture.
I use Picasa and for a free program, its pretty amazing. Another useful software you can buy is Noise Ninja.

- Use Calibrated Screen.
- Shoot Raw - Shoot properly, ie, WB (grey card), Exposure With these...I'm sure your post processing will be much easier |

Use liveview and then set adjust the custom white balance. A rough white balance will be reflected in liveview mode. Then use the set white balance for shots. Also shoot in raw in case you need to fine tune using software later. FYI, grey card most accurate.

For colour cast correction in Nikon CaptureNX, hope that one or combination of these methods will help in colour cast correction Method 1 In Develop > Camera Setting > White Balance > New WB section, opt for "Set Color Temperature" option and select the desired white balance and do the necessary Fine Adjustment and Tint adjustment Method 2 In Develop > Camera Setting > White Balance, opt for "Set Gray Point" and "Use Single Point" or "Marquee Sample" and click start. An eye dropper will appear for you to mark a point or drag over an area where you believe to represent the neutral grey point. Method 3a In Adjust > New Step > Select adjustment, choose Light > Auto Levels > Auto. See if the colour cast shift to desired tone. Method 3b In Adjust > New Step > Select Adjustment, choose Light > Auto Levels > Advanced. Slide dials on Correct Contrast and Correct Color Cast to desired result. Method 4 In Histogram section, select Double Threshold. From icon toolbar, select white point icon and click on picture to set white point. Go back to Adjust > B/W/N Control Point and pull down option to select RGB before click Advanced to set individual R, G & B value to desired result. Method 4 In Adjust > New Step > Select Adjustment, choose Color > Color Balance, adjust the Red, Green & Blue dial for desired result. Optimal selection of colour temperature selected in Method 1 and grey point in Method 2 & Method 3a or 3b, allows one to copy the white balance setting from one picture and paste it to another picture. Finer adjust of colour cast correction may also be performed using the Neutral Control Point on the tool bar too. |
