    Saw the photo in your link...... Hope you duck in time for that shot~ hahaha it looks like the ball is coming your in your way face on!

    Just get whatever you need. Both are great lens.

    As for 70-200 f/4IS vs 55-250 IS, the difference is in every aspect of lens making sans focal length. Sharpness, background blur, color, flare resistance, USM, IS, built, weather sealing... and the list goes on.
    Yes, IMO, it is like comparing BMW (70-200) with Toyota (55-250)....

    If money dont matter get lenses with 2.8 aperture. Besides 70-200 at 2.8 would give you very very good portrait shots + give you faster shutter speed and have a very good resale value. It is a little heavy, but i would give an arm and a leg to get it lol........
