Sorry to post this here again. I posted it under others as I did not realize that is a medium format category.
For some unknown reasons, I could no longer remove my Hasselblad 500CM film back although it was fixed back in the usual way. The dark slide is not bent, but when it is inserted, it does not go in very smoothly (tends to pull to one side slightly) although it manages to reach the end. I have tried inserting and removing the dark slides many times and it does not help and the film back cannot be removed. I have tried taken the insert in and out, but it does not really help either. Any help much appreciated. ![]() |

You can not remove the mag if your dark slide is not in the film mag. If dark slide is in the film mag and you still can not remove your film mag from your camera then it is time to sent it to shriro.

Shriro probably will charge a bomb for any repair. Any recommendation on independent camera service shops? Try all means but still can't remove the film back. Must be some jam up somewhere.

Bring it to 2nd hand shops, ask them how to remove, tell them you are new and don't know how :-). Maybe they know how, and they shouldn't charge you ...

Hi...
Many thanks for the advice. I have it fixed, with a fee of course, but not by the agent. It works wonderfully and smoothly now. They were puzzled why the film back cannot be removed with the dark slide inserted, but they managed to solve it. The time taken was 9 days for the repair and service! AYC Nee |

Sorry I missed this thread .
I had about the same problem with my Magazine last month. Went to Shriro and met a nice guy named Denis . He got the problem fixed for me by his service department , fed me coffee and showed me the showroom and the studio . Even invited me to join the Hasselblad Users group gatherings . This is Hasselblad Class ! and NO charge . |

Hello MadaboutHass
You have certainly lived up to the reputation of your post name. I doubt I could receive this kind of attention as my Hass was given by a relative some time back and I don't even know its origin whether it was purchased from Shriro or elsewhere. Hello Phazed1 I have this done at CAM X, and they serviced the entire camera for me at the same time. Regards, AYC Nee |
