... I'm skeptical... no mention of lag, noise, warm up time, battery consumption.. just the good marketing stuff and a suspected price tag of 1800 Euros... this is nuts....

.. having said these... the unique 'analog' features like focussing, aperture ring, shuting ring are great ideas... and the 2 element ASPH lenses that covers a great 28mm to 90mm (what most M users would have) is pretty cool. The lense looks cool, but no point having a CCD that couldn't take the resolution, if the lens is good in the 1st place...

.. a M replacement, far from it.. M extension, perhaps, M value, nah...

..bottomline, a M user would not take this, the ultimate is a digital back small enough to take existing M lenses.. that's a revolution.. until this happens, a real M user will not buy into it...

Price of the Panasonic version should be cheaper than the Leica version.

I guess, just have to wait for someone to do the review... before laying our hands on it.

Saw a site offering preorder price of US$1850. This is the ultimate compact digicam to get. Ivor and I may not agree on many things but I think he's right when he says the Panasonic cam will be the cheaper one. Maybe someone should start an MO now!

Maybe we should wait for some review first before going into it.

Of course, the Leica version is absolutely cool, then again if the Panasonic version served the same purpose, why not.
