Thanks man... I see there's quite some harsh flash on the pics I took.. What mode to you usually take picture at?? I was on Manual, and adjusting my shutter and apperture slightly.... Will Tv be a better choice???

No, Tv is not a good choice. You can use Av or M mode with f-stop f8 or higher ( smaller aperture ) with flash -1 to -2 compensate. Since you are using 300D , you can use tissue paper to stop down the flash power in addition with Omni-bounce. For magnification for your shot#1, you need at least f11 to get the whole body in focus ..

did you use a diffuser/bounce card to "spread" the flash?

Yeps.. I used to Stofen Omnibounce.... The first two shots were both taken with similar settings on the camera(1/100s f/10), but you can see the flash harsher on the insect.

Is it because the first environment was too dark and the flash had to shoot brighter compared to the second pic?? What mode of the cam do you guys usually use for Macro???

Actually, I find a lot of pics a bit underexposed when the FEC is at 0. Just increased it to +2/3(using software), and I can get better exposure when I take photo out at night.. Maybe I'll try -1/3 for macro next time.. But means that I'll need to change the FEC on my PC every time when switching from macro to people photos... Hmmm
