I just happen to get an old shoulder mount JVC DY-700. Battery is dead,no charger & donno if its still working. My uncle, who gave it to me today said the camera should be working,he told me that i just need to get a new battery. I'm not sure about the lens though. Anyone here knows what should i do with it? Thanks.

wow....that's pretty much an antique...It's hard to find Digital-S cameras now....and It's even harder to find Digital-S tapes or players.
The unit can be very useful as a camera module, but probably not worth anything as a recorder. Power up the camera using DC, then check thru all electronics and make sure it is fine before you buy batteries for it. Depending on what batts it came with, you should be able to upgrade and use current batteries like IDX or Anton Bauer for professional cameras.
