That's Vespa tropica, the greater banded hornet. What happened to it in the end? It died? Looks dead or unconscious in the pic with measurements.

Be careful with it because it has an extremely painful sting, although a single one in the house will never attack and will simply fly out if you open the windows.

the hornet flew in and went straight inside the light....
after a while it crawl outside and hang in that position for a long time....
was lazy but cannot resist the temptation to take pics of it....
all the while it was motionless....
juz before going to slp off the light and it started flying around !!!
took me 10 minutes before my father and i managed to make it fly out of the door

They get confused by light at night and will fly into the light, sometimes cooking themselves if the bulb is hot. It probably got stunned by the light after flying in.

If this happens again turn off all lights in the house, open one window wide and place a torchlight or other small lamp at the window. The hornet should either fly there and fall out of the window, or buzz around the window, after which you can switch off the light and it will fly out of the window towards lights outside.
