Default My first Wedding Photography Shoot

Its at

http://www.pbase.com/kseet4

There are more actually, but due to space constraints, these are amongst the best I feel are worth putting up.

Do critique please?

I will appreciate it!

Thanks!

hey, these are pretty ok, and using a consumer digicam only. From some threads, you would think that 'non-professional' wedding photographers are terrible...

Thanks for sharing...

Overall some comments:
The most of the closeup shots are done nicely, I like it.

Some indoor shots the flash too harsh.

Don't like the sepia tone you applied. and I think the Black and White can be improved too.

So you had shot from the church ceremony onwards, what about the tea ceremony or reception/dinner?

Hi all!

Thanks!

Some background explanation needed:

I don't have an external flash so had to depend on my inbuilt one. So I couldn't remove those harsh flash shadows and lighting etc. But I was conscious of it. No money no flashie (corny).

Its my first shoot, so I was trying to find suitable angles that are creatively fresh.

Some photos not centred properly, because I took away the LCD review and had to shoot on sight. So if I was off, bo pian. Sigh...like the kissing shot. Wasted.

Okie, I will note the sepia tone. Hee. Can you show me a nice sample of a tone please? Thanks!

The tea ceremony photos also have, but no space to put up already. Maybe later? Hee. But Dinner, I was there as a guest.

I was a volunteer photographer. So I skipped the dinner. There were other photogs there also, including a DSLR and a SLR.

No. 48 is nicely captured. But you've got to crop away the top, it's diverting attantion away from the bride and maybe you also like to straighten the tilt.

Hi KSeet, your pictures are alright and I'll say you did a good job of trying to shoot at various heights and angles to find your own style. After all, you are the volunteer so should use the opportunity to discover your personal style.

Talking about tilt. What do you guys think about tilting your pictures? Personally I enjoy tilted pictures taken by others, including those by KSeet, but personally when I try it for myself, I just can't seem to bring myself to do it.

no 10 is very good, documentary phoography, journalistic style!! the eyes for things like that is good. we don't want just shots after shots of the couple alone.

Yes! every wedding is unique. remember everybody there for the wedding is part of the wedding, without them, what is a wedding?? anyway some wedding I do the couple restricts to how many roll, so you must really have the eyes for such shots. good work again!

nice nice...

i like drinking water one... nice capture..

like the flowers but top abit distracting.. that thingee.. and flash abit too harsh... if can see a row of em in the BG wld be cute. =)

overall cropping here and there to tighten up wld be great... but some need more elabration on nose room rather than the space behind the subject... dunno guess that works for me? haha.. and headroom cld be tighter too..

love 23 sweeeeet..... flash can bounce arnot? sry i dunno the cam hee...

but lots of great moments.... =) after all the pics shld convey much more than just the surface happiness =) guess i like that style.. loved the "unimportant" parts of the event... maybe thats what we all dont usually see at weddings? its gives a greater depth to the entire wedding i feel.

ok tok so much liao.... hee.

no no no..its not too much! its great to have an indepth comment! Thanks friend!

I'll note ur comments and do better next rd! Actually I tried the row of flowers thing, but my flash not that powerful, so had to abandon it.

Thanks for ur encouraging comments! I also share your view that every moment counts other than the usual poses. Candid shots are much more meaningful sometimes.
