Default Canon G10 or pns

Hello there!

Im new to this forum and to photography. I have always had an interest in photograhy but haven had the chance to venture more into it. Anyways, i was thinking of getting a camera, but not sure which would be a better choice.

I have heard raves about G10. I'm at loss or whether i should get a G10 or a pns camera. I have been told that a pns camera can sometimes achieve similar image quality as a G10, is that true? Well, i do know that the image quality do depends on skill and experience, here i'm assuming that i will improve with more practice. Citing reasons such as cost and bulk the camera, are some of the reasons why i'm hesitating. And i do dive, so i would like to take uw photos too.

I was using a pentax one prior, and i like the vibrant colors that come with the photos. Is canon able to achieve similar effects?

With a G10, is there interchangable lens too?

Sorry for the lengthy post. I'm in a bit of a dilemma here, so im hoping you experienced ones will be able to advice. thankyou in advance!

simple ans - do you want to play with the manual settings-the aperature, the shutter speed, iso, etc that is available in G10 but not in PNS?
if ans=yes, get g10/pro-sumer, else get PNS.

why only G10? why not LX3?

IQ depends on lens and camera- IQ being image quality- noise, colours, etc
Good photos - depends on skills and experience

ok. i think i have decided to not get the pns.

Basically, why G10, its prob due to my friends' recommendation and my impression that Canon is one of the better brands ard (no insults to users of other brands intended, this opinion is probably really ignorant of me, thats just the impression i have)

But im not against trying out different cameras. I have heard about LX3 too, but still much reading up to do to determine which i should get.
