Default Panasonic Varicam

not sure what is the exact model, but can i record in HD with tape on a Varicam?

my school has two P2 SSD cards (16 and 32GB) but they can only record 56min... which sounds pretty tight!

or can i use other forms of storage media like MMC Pro Duo?

Don't quite comprehend your question due to lack of details.
Varicams are by Panasonic and other than P2 media, there are tape variants of Varicams that record on DVCProHD tapes.

If it's Pansonic P2, no you cannot use other types of storage media.

Best is to ask your technical support officers.
