Default Monitor profiling/calibration on Macbook and ext LCD monitor

Hi,

I'm interested to hear any user experience profiling the current Macbook/Macbook Pro with glossy LED screens. I have read that these new monitors are difficult to profile.

I am looking into either a) X-rite i1display 2; or b) Spyder3 Pro. Also, since I might be hooking up the notebook to an external monitor (Dell 2209WA), how will these devices work with the ext. monitor? Any comments on these devices much appreciated.

Thanks!

Default Re: Monitor profiling/calibration on Macbook and ext LCD monitor

I did the calibration of both my MacBook Pro and an external Dell 2408WFP Ultrasharp 24 inch display using the i1Display2 color calibrator. The MacBook was fairly easy to do, but the Dell took a lot of messing with settings as it was extremely bright and saturated out of the box. I posted what I ended up doing in my website, maybe it'll help.
