Well, took that kinda late, with focus just little bit infront of the pollen.. Does it look bad to you???

f2.8 the DOF is definitely too shallow ... shot like this need at least f8 or smaller to get the object in depth

Hmm.., Hein.

You might want to consider rearanging your composition next time? Nature photography is all about watching out all the elements in the picture are falling in place. "Where should I focus and what's the depth of field I need?" I still remember asking myself this question when I first started nature photography! Both these play a important part, if you think the tip of the flower is what you find interesting, you might want to try F4, F5.6 , F8, F16. I suggest trying out the aperture setting and perhaps, through depth of field preview, see which one you like. Shooting at Full aperture reduce colour vibrant, don't ask me why, that's what i realise when i shoot!

Hope it helps!

Hi there,

Thanks soooo much for those valuable information.. It's things I'll really note next time...

Hmmm.. just got my macro lens, and reached home 9+ that night.. Just wanted to get 1-2 shots, and found that pic not so bad..... Think my focus was at the center of the flower, with a VERY small DOF(2.8)....
