Saw this in the price list
    AF 70-300mm f4-5.6 Di LD Macro - $246 (CP)

    Why?

If I'm right the build quality and the image quality for this lens is not very fantastic.
More for newbies who want to give zoom lenses a try.
    Wide open its only f4.
Compared to 70-200L which has till f2.8

Usages for this kind of lens might be for sports... depends actually.

tats a 2nd kit lens... its normally just for beginners to play with zooms and some macro. otherwise pretty useless.

70-200 is ok when stopped down, 200-300mm very soft

I used to have the Canon EF 100-300 4-5.6 IS, it was the first gen IS lens. I love it because of what it can do re IS and reach. But it was still a piece of crap.

Think u need to read up abit about IS before deciding on whether it is a must to get lense with IS.

Wheather u need it depends very much on what u shoot!

lenses with such F stop and price range are plastic lenses. aka beginner lenses. skip it.

So you use an EOS adaptor for Canon lens to fix on your Pentax dslr?

Cheap does not mean crap. I recently went for a an overseas photo shoot with my $100, Nikkor AF 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6G. Results are comparable to the guy next to me using 70~200mm/ f/2.8. We both stop down to f/8. Landscape pics of course.

If you know your lens's limitations, you can achieve great results.

Why bring a Parang, when a fruit knife can also do the same job as killing.

    Cheers.
