    Default Treatment for ankle injury

I've been having these sharp pains in my achilles recently, usually after running and suspect I might have a partial achilles tendon rupture. Now I'm a little ignorant of these matters but where do I go for a consultation and diagnostic for such matters? Would a GP do or a specialist clinic? Which specialist clinic to do I go to if that's required?

I would suggest a specialist clinic at any hospital. If you want to save some $ (subsidised rates), go to a polyclinic and mentioned briefly about your problems and inform you would want a referral to ___ hospital to see a specialist about it. Usually an orthopedic specialist. Most hospital should have an orthopedic clinic.

I battled with plantar fasciitis without knowing I was suffering from it for a few years. Imagine the gawling acute pain that i had to live with for those period of time. It was the most horrible pain i had to endure with every step i took. My foot/feet would hurt the most in the morning when i take my first step and/or after walking/standing for a period of time. Went to many specialists, many clinics before i met one who advised me accordingly and the pain went away after less then a year. My guess was, I did not heal proper when i had my ankle fracture and the multiple sprains thereafter.

Please get proper treatment soon, and hope you recover soon!

I would try to run a quick diagnostic on you over the internet, but we all know the efficacy of doing so (low or non existent).

go get yourself checked, preferably by somebody with a sports medicine background. it might cost a bit owing to their specialist nature, but you'll be surprised at how easy some of the treatment methodology is.

not sure if it's still the same, but to get a Specialist referral, go to your GP and ask for one first.

Thanks for the info! I'll make an appointment with the Orthopedics Clinic in SGH. They have a Knee and Ankle Clinic so that seems to be the place I should go.
