how many hours of transport on cab does it take to reach lake bratan from the airport? does anyone know here?
Airport: About 2hrs 15mins or more (unless no jam inside city & depending how fierce your driver willing go on outside country road. LOL!).how many hours of transport on cab does it take to reach lake bratan from the airport? does anyone know here?
If you are staying in Ubud: About 1hrs 10mins.
I was there 3 week ago and based in Ubud to shoot and leave just before the "so called peak season in Bali now" I'm a cheap traveller that flew budget and staying at "homestay" for S$25/- plus breakfast and hot shower (you will not get this price during peak).
P/s To dog lovers, please don't play with all the street dogs meanwhile!

A Lost Tourist & His Cheap Plastic Camera Not Aloud!
i have another 2 nite that i can spend elsewhere.
the last time i visit, i covered south, southeast to purah tanah lot, southwest to tenganan, and north to ubud.
i prefer to cover new places that have
- a lot of locals
- hopefully almost no tourist
- cool temperature.
not decided yet. looking around at options.
Grats zoossh ... just. remember. to. bring. extra. specs
I found danau bratan to be an average experience ... it's really very crowded
Talk about commercialism, there's a group of photographers there who help you take photos for a fee
I must say it's a good piece of marketing - all of them are sponsored by Canon; wearing bright red photog vest with the logo emblazoned front and back, armed with Canon equipment and Selphy printers by the side.
Endure. In enduring grow strong.
I am planning my next vacation getaway to Bali too... anyone has experience with car rental there? I intend to rent one from the airport and return at the airport when i go home.
Yngwie J. Malmsteen - "...I've never considered myself a fast guitar player..."
seems bratan out then. so any one here has any advice offer for a bali location that has the benefit of having gd internet connection (i need to check something while oveseas) while having the option to shoot in less touristy local towns?
I rented Toyota Avanza w driver, but I do believe they have self-drive rentals as well.
The driver was useful in places like Ubud, coz he could drop us near where we wanted to go, then pick us up again later. So... up to you.
I am planning a trip to Bali too. Thinking of spending 1 whole week there. Got free air ticket to Bali but must redeem by Sept.
Can anyone kindly share the itinerary, hotel to stay, places to shoot, and maybe the budget as well.
I am going there to relax at beach, massage and shoot.
Would like to shoot:
- Sun rise
- Sun Set
- Anything else that are nice
Can advise what is the power plug they use there?
Thinking of bringing:
- 70-200 or 18-200 or 17-55

u can go to kintamani, tanah lot, ubud and lombok...if u want crowds and parties, best to go kuta..around Poppies Lane I and II, u can get cheap hotels ranging from $10 to $50 per night..depending on wat u want..
one more thing...its best to get sunrise at the kuta beach...for sunset, go to jinbaran beach or uluwatu..veri nice scenery..
Anybody has 'lobang' for cheap villas? So many mentioned hotels.. but no apartment or villas for big groups? I'm getting a headache finding my accomodation..
