Thumbs down Beware - Expensive parking at Yew Tee Point after 12am

I wanted to go to meet my friends at the HongKong Cafe in Yew Tee Point as they open till 3am. As I approach the carpark barrier, I was told by the security guard and to my surprise that Yew Tee Point charge an additional surcharge of $21.40 for parking after 12am. That is very ridicule. If the security guard did not stop my vehicle and advise me of the special charges, I would probably faint on the spot when I saw the amount being deducted from my cashcard.

I mean as a business sense of mind, if the complex have shop or cafe that continue to operate after midnight, shouldn't they revised the carpark charges.

Isn't that considered overnight parking? I think lots of carparks have overnight charges...

You can buy a $2 night coupon and park overnight from 10.30 pm to 7 am. But $21.40???

And you didn't buy that? So what's to stop people (or you) from buying the $2 coupon instead?

Yew Tee Point parking doesn't have a grace period, because the loading zone for deliveries is before the carpark gantry. If you compare that to Lot 1 at CCK, you'll know what i mean.

$2 coupon = HDB Multi Storey Carpark (approx 200m away from Yew Tee Point)
$21.40 = Private carpark at basement of Yew Tee Point

$21.40 is what I pay for my parking, in the city, for one hour.

    in AUD, more like.

I learnt to stop whinging about how expensive parking in Singapore is when I got to Melbourne and realise that they ask for all the money I have, plus any potential earnings I will make, just to park for one hour at a Wilson's Car Park.

    shocking.

Because the amount is deducted from your cashcard when you exited from the carpark, not the coupon type.
