** moderators if this is posted in wrong forum pls help me remove thanks **
Hi, I am trying to take some product shots. My target is to get product shots looking like great online shop pictures. With minimal or not photoshop or croppings. My setup : indoor environment table top 2 x 200W tabletop light (daylight) against mahjong paper the product is half-palm size The equipment : Camera D90 (18~200mm or Tam17~50f2.8 (or Nikon 5400, 5.8~24 good macro mode) settings both camera, WB daylight both cams using P mode during shots, Nikon 5400 Aperture from 2.8~5.x D90 Aperture from 4~7.something (cannot remember) The picture turns out dark, so when EV upped to +1.7 or +2.0 it's bright and clear. So it looks quite good, actually. But one big problem is whatever I do the corners will almost always turn our dark (don't know the term - maybe called vignetting ??). Both cameras and all settings, the same . . . If I were to crop out the image then everything will be fine. But we have so many products to shoot, if really have to crop then have to no choice but to set "batch" in photoshop to handle all the croppings. bros, please give me some advise !! or use some kind of dedicated lense or other setup will help ? Thanks in advance for your suggestions. |

You may want to try shooting at around f8-11. That should eliminate most vignetting.

Try a different f stop value, some lenses have more vignetting issues at certain (smaller) f stops, if all else fails, try a different lense.

since you're using mahjong paper.. u could even put a lamp behind the paper to give a backlighting, with bounced flash light, the color should be just fine. if you get it right, you won't even need to photoshop anything at all
