Default D90 Prices -

Planning to buy D90, should i wait for prices to drop further any time soon or are the prices already low due to Nikon Sale period?

Getting a good quote from AP-F (1529 for 18-55mmVR) and (1699 for 18-105mmVR)

Personally, I think it won't drop significantly until it's successor is released?

simmeow: you could have bought the kit and then sold off the lens in an unused condition you would have got more $$$ plus lots more goodies...

Narofx, I step up from D80 to D700, major damage but no regrets. D700 is a darn good camera less that heavy ass of it (D700 weights like a brick) a good body u will naturally want to use it with a good lense and this will really burn a hole in your pocket LOL.

If you need a camera, no need to wait ... just get it now and enjoy it. If you don't need one, then also no need to wait.

I won't bet on the price decreasing significantly over the next few months. If I were you, I'd get it now.

haiz.. thats another issue.. I only bought my D90 in Dec 08.

But lens would be the most important thingy. So, I was thinking of getting 24-70 f/2.8 lens to use with my D90 before i go full-frame. Then i realise that i mostly take in the 18-35mm range of my kit lens. Based on this range, i should be buying the 17-55 f/2.8, but dun feel like paying that sort of money for a DX lens.

Hi Guys

Just to share. I bought my D90 last October, (probably 1-2 mths after it launched and the week the body only launched). For not waiting, I purchased the body at ehh around $1390. and a 16-85mm lens at $840. Kit was selling at $1650-$1699

The price of body did drop to $1300. 6 months later. But hay, I shot 2000 shots in my 1st 1 month +. Come on, why wait for months just to get a not guaranteed 5-8% discount!

Worse still how many people will still buy D90 if D90x comes out with a lower noise sensor?

Anyway, for your info, for some consumer electronics which sell at high volume, after the products are launched, they straight away go though a cost down process. Components are reduced and substituted with cheaper alternatives. Factories are moved to cheaper source and so on. I not sure whether D90 sells enough to warrant such measures but I want to advice you guys,

How much you pay is what you will get!

Pay Peanuts, you get Monkey
