Hi Vin,

It all depends on what's the main objective for your trip. For me, I just bring a simple camera (CP 5700) and enjoy my holiday by travelling light. Of cos on the other note, if the trip is mainly for photo-shoot, then I'll carry along essentials lenses and couple with other spare equipment and camera too (CP 5700), etc.

Best if the group uses the same brand of cameras, so that you don't need to bring the full range of lenses. (Have a discussion and workout on who to bring what lenses and equipment, etc)

This is what I would normally do with my friends and it works out well.

Hope it helps.

Cheers!

For me, it depends on the kind of trip, whether its a drivable country or public transport etc. But generally, my travel gear have been more or less settled on my 10D, 17-40f4, 70-200f4 and possibly 50f1.8
Of course, for the "out of the beaten path" type, may need to review again.. For your Afghan trip, its on assignment right?
Do share your final selection for your Vietnam trip yah?
Thanks.

I'm on Assignment to Hanoi for SEA games from Nov 28 untill Dec 14, then from 15 to 20, I'm planning to do some travel picture within Hanoi and near by area, not sure yet where and how the transport going to be, but won be using public transport for sure.

For now I will stick with my Stealth backpack with my Dell laptop and 2 EOS-1D and 16-35, 70-200 also with one 550 flash and 1.4X...but too bad is I need to carry atleast 3 battery for day trip.

I didn't really expact for any great picture for this trip but will share my picture after I came back to KL, saving money for my own trip in Greece after my Olympics assignment next year.
