When I was there, there is some Japanese who are travelling in Afghanistan, but again the country it self is not a safe country, outside of Kabul is worst

But inside Kabul is safe for anyone walking in town on day time.

I really hope to go back Kabul sometime soon

Sad to say, travel in Afghanistan is rather expensive for normal visitor. For my 35 days there, I spent about USD 8,000. This included the flight, fees for the driver, and translator. My accommodation (at AP house) and food there were however all paid for, not sure about the real cost for them.

This 8K USD does not includes the expensive satellite phone bill. The nature of my job requires me to transmit photos and read my email, etc. It's cost my agency about USD500 per day for my communication cost-that's using 64K satellite phone at USD7/min! And prepaid mobile phone alone cost about USD400 for about 32 days usage in Kabul. It's expensive to communicate in a war zone.
