How much can one expect to pay now ? w/wo the Kit lens

One place is offering at $1750 without lens kit.

any one got one with lens kit from Alan Photo??.. how much did they charge you??

$1800 is the price (GST included) for the camera with kit lens.

not too sure abt stocks. you could check out the major retailers like MS Color, Cathay Photo or Alan Photo. the prices should be fairly similar unless Canon increased the prices.

MS Color also same price as AP. seems that the shops are getting a only a few of the camera every week.......dunno why leh.......

Dunno lah. Sometimes due to limited supply, shop owners are pretty hesitant to let go of the equipment cheap. I called TCW today about a 50mm 1.8, and i get a quote of $180!! Was at the shop last week and i was quoted $160!! Grey market goods mind you. Nuts.

Dun forget shop owners also surf Clubsnap so they will know that there are demand for certain lenses or bodies. Hence, they can quote or sell higher.

Forget about MO of lenses, etc, you will not get a super good deal. Still remember some guys wanted to MO 70-200 f2.8L IS USM at $2500++. It's really a joke if you can get a such a price with Canon Warranty unless... for u to guess.

as for the 50 1.8, i got it for 165 from TCW. i bought it there, because Andrew was forthcoming and honest about his price being higher because he gets them from another source. honesty is pretty important too.

I paid 1650 for mine at CP from Vincent.

However, bought it with other stuff. EF24-85 lens, and Hoya filter.

But checked around, and price on lens pretty standard. Filter was at my own request after the price had been made clear. In fact body price was the first thing that was mentioned...

You should go to MS colour to purchase it at only $135.
